1986 Sonor Performer kit.

A 1990 catalog I have describes Performer as "... designed for young drummers looking for a basic equipment, but who insist on having Sonor Quality Made in Germany. With Performer even the beginner has a reliable and complete equipment." What an understatement! Quality and construction of this "entry level" kit exceeds that of MOST top-line drums. From the pics in my other catalogs, the hardware on this kit is IDENTICAL to the Phonic/Phonic Plus series from the early 80's. The shells are 6 ply beechwood, 9 ply for the bass drum. Not as thick as Phonic, but just as massive. The interior finish is very good. They used a thinner grade covering than on Phonic. Bass drum claws are something out of the generic Taiwan bin. The hoops & T's are Phonic/Signature. This kit has a 22x16 bass, 10x9, 12x10 & 14x12 mounted toms.

After buying my Force 3000's this kit was sold and I wish I hadn't...
