1960's Bongos

These are pretty much useless as anything other than a cute conversation piece. They have pigskin heads mounted to the shells with oversize hose clamps. The interesting thing is the tuning mechanism: it is a metal ring inside that can be tightened or loosened with a thumbscrew. I'm sure it worked much better when the heads were new and pliable.

They also offered a matching conga at the time. I'm tempted to buy one if it shows up on Ebay or the like.
