O.K. guys,
I have a 1985 Signature kit I bought new back then when I toured with the big hair bands. You all know the rack tom mounts and stands I'm talking about from back then and they have limited movement compared to the newer swivel mounts. I want to change over and get one of the newer ball bearing swivel tom stands for a little easier and better way to move my toms around to where I want them. My question is, what kind of tom "rims" style tom mounts are out there that will fit the tom stand pins that will also line up on the signature lugs?? I'd like to stick with the sonor tom mounts that fit on the lugs of the shell but I don't know if the lug spacing on the newer sonors those are built for will be the same as the old signatures are. I don't want to spend a lot of $$$ ordering a couple and then not have them fit.

If you're taking about the ball and socket mounts they're currently using, I'm a little skeptical they'd be strong enough to keep big, heavy Signature toms from drooping. At least not over time.

RIMS Mounts with DW Brackets and DW Tom Stands is what I do on my modded- Signature kit. My orignal drums are still mounted with Sig Tom Stands (But they usually live in the closet until I can have my own place and have all my kits setup!!!
