So my 8x8 has been sounded pretty weak lately. My kit gets played a lot and the edge was just beat up! I was not sure what to do and asked my buddy Jeff Ocheltree where to send it. He told me to grow a pair and fix it myself. I picked up 320 and 800 grit sandpaper and decided to go for it. I guess so!
The edge is not quite as sharp as from the factory but I actually prefer the sound. The drum is more resonant and sweeter/fatter sounding.
I originally intended to just repair the edge and eventually have it sharpened by a pro but at this point, I may go work on all of the edges on the kit and fatten it up!.

Hey nice work! I'm curious about the technique that you used, especially on the inside of the edge. Can you elaborate

After I took down the edge to a clean surface, I simply used 800grit sandpaper and my right pointer-finger and followed the contour of the factory edge until I had a sharp edge. Looks OEM.
